We are currently upgrading all of our older cPanel Linux shared hosting servers. This is being done to increase performance and remove older server equipment from our network which has reached the end of it’s service life.

We are about to begin the process of migrating all hosting accounts from the server bluelynx6.ukhost4u.com to mango.ukhost4u.com.

The new server is a Dell PowerEdge running Dual Xeon Quad Core CPUs, 4 x 1TB Hard Drives with hardware RAID 10 and 24GB DDR3 memory. Other users who have already been migrated to similar hardware have commented that the performance increase is very noticeable.

We do not anticipate any interruption to service while this migration takes place but as it involves a change of IP address and server hostname there are two things to be aware of.

If the name servers for your domain name(s) are not set to UKHost4u name servers (specifically ns31.ukhost4u.com and ns32.ukhost4u.com), the DNS records will not be updated automatically. In which case you will need to update your DNS records manually via your DNS provider. The new shared IP address of the server is 188.64.188.121. If you have a dedicated IP, please contact us to find out the new IP your account will be given. To find out what your name servers are set to you can do a lookup using this online tool:

So long as they are set to ns31.ukhost4u.com and ns32.ukhost4u.com that is fine.

Secondly, the hostname of the new server is mango.ukhost4u.com. If your mail or FTP client is set up to use the old bluelynx6.ukhost4u.com hostname or IP address then you will need to update it.
