Setting up your FTP client (FileZilla)
For this one, we will be using the “FileZilla FTP Client” but you can use other FTP clients you wish to use. To connect to your FTP account you need the following informations, Hostname, Username, Password and Port number (default is 21). You can find these informations from cPanel main screen, click on the FTP Accounts under the Files category. Then click on “Configure FTP Client”. See the image below.
On the FileZilla FTP Client, enter your Hostname, Username, Password and Port number then click on “Quickconnect”.
Note that on some servers a certificate verification will show up. Just click on the “OK” button. It will proceed on establishing the connection to your FTP server.
Once done, the client will show you the Remote site directories and its contents on the right part of the window.
You are now connected to your FTP server using the FTP client and may continue transferring files.
