On this guide, we will show you how to setup your UKHost4u VPN Connection from Windows 10.
Before we start, you should have your:
- Pre-Shared Key (PSK)
Adding the VPN Connection
On the search bar, type in “VPN” and the VPN options will show up. Just click on “Add a VPN Connection” as shown on the image below.
A window should show up with the options for VPN, just click on “Add a VPN Connection” again.
Entering VPN Connection Details
Next, a window will pop up showing the fields for you to enter the required informations you got from UKHost4u. See below:
VPN Provider: Windows (built-in)
Connection Name: Your Preferred Name Of The Connection
Server name or address: mikrotik.ukhost4u.com
VPN Type: L2TP/IPSec with Pre-shared Key
Pre-shared Key: The pre-shared key provided by UKHost4u
Type of sign-in info: Username and Password
Username: Your VPN Username
Password: Your VPN Password
For the checkbox, you may leave it unchecked or checked. This is to remember the sign-in informations you entered so the system will not prompt you to enter them again when connecting.
Click Save button once you are done.
Connecting to the VPN
When you are done, you may click on the Start Menu again and type in VPN then click on Open.
The window for VPN will open up and you may just click on the VPN Name then click Connect.
To confirm that you are online and connected, you should be seeing “Connected” under the VPN name.
