How to change root password – WHM

It is advisable that you change your password regularly to prevent your server from getting compromised.
To do this, first you need to be logged in to WHM then from the search bar on the top left of the screen, just type in “root”. (Don’t know how to login to WHM? Click here)

 

 

You will then see the “Change Root Password” option on the left pane. Click on that and the Change Root Password screen will show up. You may now proceed in typing your preferred new password.

 

 

How to change MySQL root password – WHM

When there is a need to change your MySQL root password, then you can do this via WHM.
First, you need to be logged in to the WHM.
From the search bar on the top left of the screen, just type in mysql. (Don’t know how to login to WHM? Click here)

 

 

You will then see the “MySQL Root Password” option on the left pane. Click on it and the screen for MySQL Root Password will show up. You may now type in your preferred new password and just click on the Change Password button to proceed and save the new password.

How to change language – WHM

First, log in to WHM then type in tweak from the search bar on the top left of the screen. It will show the Tweak Settings option under the Server Configuration section. (Don’t know how to login to WHM? Click here)

 

 

When you click on the “Tweak Settings” option, it will show the different settings for the WHM. Just click on the System Tab at the right part of the screen.

 

 

Once you are on the System tab, scroll down and locate the “Server Locale” option.

How to create a package in WHM

First, login to your WHM account. (Don’t know how to login to your cPanel account? Click Here)

To create a package, locate and click the “Add a Package” under the Packages section in the WHM left menu.

 

 

You will then be redirected to the Add a Package screen. Kindly specify a package name.

On the Resources section, enter the values for each item that the package includes. For unlimited resources, just tick the radio button for the unlimited option.

How to unblock yourself from the firewall – WHM/cPanel

This will be applicable to resellers, VPS, or dedicated server customers who have access to WHM.

If a client or customer has reported or suspected that their IP address has been blocked from the firewall for any possible reason, or if you want to open/close ports and whitelist/blocklist IP addresses, you will need to access the Firewall in the WHM interface. All of these can be done within the “ConfigServer Security&Firewall” section.

You may find the “ConfigServer Security&Firewall” under the Plugins Section in WHM and can be searched by typing in “firewall” from the search box on the top left part of the screen.

How to Upgrade/Downgrade an account in WHM

First, login to WHM (this is usually your server hostname followed by :2087).

Next, search Upgrade/Downgrade an Account in the search bar:

Select the account, and click Modify.

You can now select the hosting package to assign to the cPanel account.

Once you’ve selected the package, click Upgrade/Downgrade to complete the process.

 

How to terminate an account in WHM

First, login to WHM (this is usually your server hostname followed by :2087).

Next, search Terminate Accounts in the search bar:

Now you can select the account from the list, and click Remove Selected Accounts to terminate the selected cPanel accounts.

 

 

How to suspend an account in WHM

First, login to WHM (this is usually your server hostname followed by :2087).

Next, search Manage Account Suspensions in the search bar:

You can now select to suspend users by their domain name, or by their account username.

This can also be done in the List Accounts interface.

 

How to create a new cPanel account in WHM

First, login to WHM (this is usually your server hostname followed by :2087).

Once logged in, go to Account Functions:

Now select Create Account:

 

Now you must enter the account details for the cPanel account such as username, package type, and quota:

Once all of the account details have been entered, click “Create Account” to finish creating the cPanel account.

 

How to login to Web Host Manager (WHM)

First, navigate to the WHM login URL provided in the hosting activation email. This will typically be in the form of server.hostname.com:2087. 2087 is the WHM login port number.
