What is a SIP Trunk?

SIP Trunking is a method of voice communication over IP based on the Session Initiation Protocol (SIP).

A SIP Trunk can be compared to a telephone line in terms of functionality, and it allows VOIP providers to connect one or more channels to the customer’s PBX.

SIP Trunks are essentially direct connections between your organization’s PBX and an internet telephony service provider.
