What is POP3?

Post office protocol 3, or POP3, is a protocol used for accessing email messages stored in your hosting account.

This protocol lets you download the email messages and will delete them from the mail server automatically. You can only access the emails from the device where you have downloaded them. This protocol doesn’t need a constant connection while emails are being accessed and it can help conserve disk space utilization.

POP3 is most helpful when you need to access your emails when you’re offline, and is often used because of it’s simplicity and ease of use.
