JetBackup stands as an all-encompassing tool designed for the meticulous management of various components of your hosting account. With its intuitive interface, not only can you effortlessly generate and oversee backups, but you can also download and reinstate them whenever required. This encompasses a wide range of elements, from DNS Records, Email accounts, and Files to Databases, Cron Jobs, and indeed, the entirety of your hosting account. To ensure optimal use of your hosting services and maintain a robust safeguard of your data, understanding how to adeptly manage these backups in cPanel with JetBackup is paramount. In this guide, we’ll walk you through the process, ensuring you’re well-equipped to capitalise on JetBackup’s potential.

Using cPanel:

Users can restore their backups directly from their cPanel account.

  • Step 1: Log into cPanel.
  • Step 2: Navigate to the ‘JetBackup’ section.
  • Step 3: Select the desired backup type.
  • Step 4: Choose the backup point you wish to restore.
  • Step 5: Click ‘Restore’ and confirm.

Restoration Process:

Apart from the “Files Backups”, all other backup choices adhere to a similar procedure. Within the backup page, you’ll encounter the “Restore” option to revert your hosting account using the backup, or “Generate Download” to produce a zipped file ready for download.

To avoid misuse and superfluous storage consumption, compressed files should be placed in a download queue, which will momentarily make the backup accessible for download.

You can track the progress of either the restoration or generation process on the “Queue” page.

Backup Management Options:

Full Backups:

Encompassing the entirety of the hosting account, it consolidates all other options into a singular backup file, ready for restoration or download.

File Backups:

Imagine a scenario where your website is compromised with malicious code in a particular file, or perhaps an essential file was inadvertently deleted during routine maintenance. Instead of resorting to a complete website, folder, or hosting account restoration, the “File Backups” feature is your saviour. It grants you the flexibility to choose and reinstate multiple folders or files through a “File Manager”.

The “File Manager” initiates by presenting the home directory of the hosting account. From this vantage point, you can employ the checkbox to earmark the files and folders you wish to restore. Alternatively, simply click on a folder’s name to delve inside and view its contents.

After finalising your choices, click on “Restore Selected” to initiate the restoration procedure, or “Download Selected” if you wish to retrieve the chosen files or folders. You can track the progress of these actions on the “Queue” page.

Cron Job Backups:

To retrieve or reinstate the scheduled scripts or website calls configured on your hosting account.

DNS Zone Backups:

To Download or Restore the DNS Zone of a domain.

Database Backups:

To retrieve or reinstate the databases stored on your hosting account, you’ll be presented with a list of backups for each distinct database, each marked with varying times and dates, contingent on the server’s backup configuration.
